Redcat Gen 8 - Low CG Transverse Mounted Shorty Battery Tray

This is a low CG (center-of-gravity) shorty battery tray conversion for the Redcat Racing Gen 8 International Harvester Scout II crawler. This allows you to get the weight up front as much as possible while still keeping the lowest possible center-of-gravity. There are three mounting combinations for the battery tray to fine tune the weight bias. You will need the following hardware: 7pcs: M3x12mm countersink head screws The existing screw under the right front inner fender will be reused. This is installed in the exact same way as the "Sideways Battery Tray Conversion" that Redcat Racing offers on their Thingiverse page, so I will copy-and-paste the instructions below. The only difference being that you will need to relocate your ESC from the right side to the left, just behind the Gen 8's receiver box. Doing so actually helps to balance the right-to-left weight distribution. As such, you will have less than 10g of weight offset between the right and left sides. To install, remove the original battery tray from the vehicle. The screw that is used to mount the front of the battery tray to the side rail will be reused for the installation of the sideways battery mount. Using 3pcs of the M3x12mm screws and the original side rail button head screw, install the sideways battery mount to the vehicle. Now, secure the battery tray to the mount using 4pcs of the M3x12mm screws. It's up to you where you position the tray, but we recommend starting with it further back and moving it more forward as necessary.
