Revisions for the filament spool holder found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:125533 Here, I designed a spool support to utilize leftover parts from transforming my PrintrBot Simple from V1 to V2. Initially, the holes are suited for the 1/4" threaded rod originating from the PrintrBot Simple V1. (I use this rod as one of my verticals.) With slight enlargement, it can accommodate the 8mm smooth rods. Be cautious while reaming, and avoid forcing the rod in to prevent splitting apart layers. Interestingly, I discovered that it's more convenient not to have a flanged cap inside the spool; the spool can easily glide on the 8mm rod without any interior support or bearing.
