This tool will allow you to essentially swage the shell latch on a Remington 870 or 1100 series shotgun. The tip that is press fit into the main body has to be hardened, just use drill rod or buy one from Brownells. I'm not sure of the dimension of the tip in Brownells, but I used 3/16".
