Remington Express Picatinny Rail Rear Sight Replacement

Remington Express Picatinny Rail Rear Sight Replacement

thingiverse

Picatinny rail replacement for the Remington Express air rifle's rear sight. Uses the existing holes in the receiver that the sight originally mounted with. You should be able to reuse the original sight screws (though you'll still need one), and one more (M3x7 - M3x10). It's worth noting that the original M3 screwheads are a bit weak and might strip if you aren't careful. Two models included - one longer than the other (Rear Sight Picatinny Rail Long Remington Express.stl). The longer file will need to be rotated 45 degrees in the slicer. One problem with break barrel air rifles (and other break actions in general) is that the barrel will always lock in a slightly different position. As such, the point of impact may be different between each projectile fired when using a scope mounted on the receiver. This isn't a big problem on every break barrel airgun, but I found the variance shooting the Remington Express could be quite annoying. With something like a zero parallax reflex sight or airgun rated pistol scope, it could be useful. My plan is to keep a sight mounted on the original 9-11mm dovetail rail and put a small laser on the picatinny rail to be able to maintain the same zero when changing scopes. Many thanks to zx82net for the excellent customizable rail mount.
