I imported the stl file from Clone trooper phase 1 helmet by Dylan91 into Blender and added a modifier called Solidify. I used a thickness of 1.6mm and had to adjust some of the vertices on the inside of the helmet at the 'ear' part. They were out of place causing holes when sliced in Cura. I exported the adjusted model to an stl file. Once In Cura I rotated the helmet 180 degrees on the y axis so it would print upside down. This way it would look better and require less supports. On the Ender 3 this model at full size will take about 21 hours with supports to print. It is 152.6mm high, 127.9mm wide, and 142.5mm deep. With supports it weighs 75g and uses 25 meters of filament. I added a small version of the helmet. It only took 6 hours to print. It is 50% smaller on the x, y and z axises. It is 76.3mm tall, 64mm wide, and 71.2mm deep. I've included pictures of the smaller version. I have only popped off the supports and haven't done any cleaning up on the model. The larger, or standard sized version was going to take too long for me, today. I also made some changes to the stl file and uploaded the better version. Slicing in in Cura at Standard Quality, .2mm layers, shows that it will take 32.5 hours to print. If you want to print it at a smaller size I would suggest downloading the original model from Dylan91 and adjusting the thickness with solidify in Blender. Then go inside the model and adjust a few of the vertices on both of the ear pieces to get rid of holes that will show up when sliced. I would like to thank Dylan91 for uploading the original Phase 1 helmet.
