Remixed dust shoe for MPCNC
thingiverse
I liked elnillo's MPCNC dust shoe, but needed to fix a couple of issues: The original design limited my Z range in my setup, and when reaching the edge of the material, suction dropped as there was no channeling the vacuum to where the tool was. I ended up adding a plate at the bottom and shortening the overall profile. I also remixed the DW660 low mount to further increase the clearance between the tool and the dust shoe (see thing 3776090). Some notes for those of us in the US: I found an "adjustable closet rod" at Home Depot with an outside diameter of 1.25", which is close enough to the 32mm required for this dust shoe. I just took the outside tube and cut it to the desired size. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Closet-Pro-18-in-30-in-White-Adjustable-Closet-Rod-RP0021-18-30/100192142 I used a 1 1/8 bilge pump hose (sorry, can't find the link, but I also got that at HD) to connect from the above tube to my vacuum. I had to print an adapter. I attached the rigid tube to the dust shoe simply by pressure fitting it, then used a hot glue gun to secure it. Needless to say, this prints with supports, and yes, they are a bit of a pain to remove, but the end result works well.
