Removable Extruder Fan Holder A8
thingiverse
This design lets you swap out your filament by handily removing the extruder fan.\r\nThe extruder fan sits on a sliding slot, and all you need to do is pull it up to remove it.\r\n\r\nThis remix comes from 85holmberg's original design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2326111\r\nIn his design, you would've had to use different screw sizes and cut the extruder heatsink. I didn't want to cut the heatsink since I might need it in the future, so I reworked his concept.\r\n\r\nI removed the heatsink from this design and angled the fan at 15 degrees, blowing directly into the extruder parts.\r\nSince the moving air might reach the nozzle and cool it down, I added an exhaust below the fan to have the air pass through there without affecting the nozzle temperature.\r\n\r\nSome may say removing the heatsink is a bad move, but it's working for me!\r\nTemps are okay, and prints haven't been affected.\r\nThis piece weighs almost nothing, so it won't affect any carriage movement.\r\n\r\nTo use this design:\r\n- print it out\r\n- remove the heatsink and fan cover\r\n- use the same two 50mm screws to attach the mount\r\n- simply slide the fan in place!
