GrabCAD
My redesign consists of a semi-simple piping system that will replace sections of regular piping which typically flows into oceans or large bodies of water. Steel will be used to create this system due to its durability and availability. With this product, the water will flow through filtration systems with holes cut out of the walls throughout the piping. The first holes will have a diameter of one inch but decrease down to a membrane-like substance made of hydrophilic polymer brush. This membrane-like material will filter out oil and other liquid or microscopic substances that are unsafe for the body of water. The redesign will benefit the environment but will be cheaper than replacing an entire piping system, thus making it accessible to poverty stricken nations as well as first-world countries.
