I have restored another harpsichord! It was made in 1976, then recently given to me by the owner because it wasn't playable any more. I've made 3D printed jacks to replace the old wooden ones, and damper holders for the 4 foot stop. It now plays well, and will soon be painted in the 18 century style (red with gold leaf). You can hear it, here: -https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3703861/EMS_harpsichord.mp3 Soon, I'll add 61 solenoids to automate it! Notice that the white notes have white jacks, and the back notes have black jacks! Pointless but fun! Confusingly perhaps, the white notes on this instrument are actually black and the back notes are all white! If you want to know more, email me at mmessiter@gmail.com. Instructions Print the parts 100% ABS plastic. Save the brass jack bottoms and re-use these. Obtain the little screws and the tongues and plectra from http://www.hubharp.com/parts.htm. If unsure which, mention my name. He'll remember - I did this twice already. Some jacks will need to be sandpapered to fit as the slots are not perfectly consistent in size. Important: - The jacks' rail needs to be about 6 mm higher than was designed, to accommodate the plectra adjustment screws which were not there in the original version. This is simple to achieve: Just drill its mounting holes a bit higher up inside the cabinet. The rail will still be clear of the lid. Let me know if you get it working! Malcolm
