To reduce the dragging friction of the filament which can cause instability in 3D printing, especially for those printers that have the filament spool on the upper crossbar, I thought of replacing the default spool holder of my Eleggo Neptune 3 PRO with another one provided of ball bearings. On Tinghiverse and Printables there are many proposals but the one I found most interesting is the model created by HugoG (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3020026) and (https://www.printables.com/it/ model/174620-filler-filament-holder). However, since I don't have the 608 model ball bearings immediately available, also taking advantage of HugoG's kind provision of the step files (for which I sincerely again thank the author), it was easy for me to remix the HugoG project in Fusion 360 to replace the 608 bearings with a type that is certainly not lacking in the homes of those who have a 3D printer and, precisely, the spare rollers for sliding the axes on the aluminum profiles of the printer structure. The remix that I propose, therefore, contemplates the replacement of the ball bearings and the modiifcation of the attachment to the Elegoo support which is made with a metric thread M30x1.5x9mm. In honor of HugoG, I cannot avoid the publication of my drawings in step and Fusion 360 as well as the STL files, for the benefit of those wishing to make other necessary changes to their particular configuration. For the necessary resistance to operating loads, I recommend printing the two models with the necessary supports, an increased number of external walls compared to the standards and with adequate infill (I used 6 external walls and 20% infill), placing them on the plate according to the direction illustrated in the attached photos. Printing in the "natural" direction would give rise to detachment stresses of the layers subjected to the heavy loads. If you encounter cylindricity problems of the cylindrical body, once printed, I suggest reprinting only this part, being careful to arrange it with the axis vertical, perpendicular to the printing plane, like a big tower! It may seem like a crazy and illogical arrangement but the result is excellent in terms of fluidity of scrolling. Obviously, the necessary supports must be provided to support the parts of the cantilevered model. 13 may 2023: added ad_hoc_modded.stl for a specific request of Woozelling (I hope is right) to his needs!)
