Replicator 2 extruder replacement with no overheating issues v2
thingiverse
To enhance the Extruder Mod V1 installed a month ago (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:60574), I opted for an affordable design utilizing a 9mm diameter bearing and one common clothespin. The pin's spring has the same internal diameter as default extruder bolts, making it a perfect fit. For assembly, print all components, remembering that the small piece fitting into the gear may require adjustments due to varying printer precision. Snip a bent part of the clothespin to match the extruder's back piece and slightly bend the other leg nearer to the spring (2-3mm in my case). Insert the smallest piece into the bent leg, followed by the bearing, then place it into the extruder rear section. To install the front part, rotate 90 degrees, push against the rear part of the extruder, and rotate until aligned. Finally, secure it to the motor by another 90-degree rotation.
