this is a mount designed for Prusa based machines. It allows for top mounting of filament spools. This particular model works with Ultimachine and 3D printerstuff spools up to 5lb. Instructions -Sorry, I used Solidworks to create this thingy. I don't use openscad so I can't provide those files. I can provide other formats tho. I would think Iges would work. Please email me and I will either post, or send files :) - You will only need to print one set of each file with the exception of the mounting bracket and the hub. You will need two ea. of those. The picture above shows an actual image of the assembly as it is intended to be installed. The right and left sides are mirrors of each other, so the picture says it all. Once you have printed everything, you can either slide the mounts in place (no tools), or you can loosen your two sets of "inner - upper" vertex nuts, then slip in the mounts and tighten. I personally like the device clamped in this way, but I designed it to be easy to mount with no disassembly ;) Next, you can ream out the barclamps and insert M3 X 12 socket head bolts and nuts, or dont ream them and use no hardware. I used hardware since I had plenty. I also used 8mm flat washers to help prevent friction between hub and barclamp. Not really necessary tho. Finally, you will only need some lengths of 5/16" or 8mm rod. This can be either smooth, or threaded. I have no preference and I only used what I had lying around. I had a 10.5" piece of 8mm threaded which is perfect for the axle and I cut down two pieces of 5/16" smooth rod to 4" lengths. These are the upright rods that connect the mounting base to the fork ends and 4" length perfectly clears a 5lb spool from ultimachine. Happy printing!
