We had an old 3D Systems Cube 3 that was going to be thrown out. I started to tear it down just to see what the story was. Turns out - the frame is solid, the linear components are nice, and the thing is a GREAT platform to build on. For having a 170mmx170mm build volume, the machine is compact and light. Aluminum removable bed, everything. I've added rubber feet. Mounting for a DUE+RADDS, a groovemount hotend (B3 Pico in this case), a E3D titan as a bowden, and normal microswitch endstops. The thing prints beautifully. I'll upload the photos and STLs.. if there's an appetite I'll come back and run through some of the hardware necessary. Cube's are out there (and not being used) and are cheap on eBay. This is a fun little project. UPDATED: The Pico hotend was leaking like crazy on me... switched to an e3d lite6. Photos and files added.
