My first Thingiverse thing! A simple faceplate and mounting hooks for an LCD screen purchased from reprapworld. This setup allows for an LCD screen to hang freely from the top frame of a Mendel Prusa (or similar) printer. Such a setup allows for easy repositioning or removal of the LCD Screen as needed. Instructions Additional supplies: Four screws and nuts small enough to thread through the corner holes on the LCD board, and long enough to reach through the faceplate and hooks. (Optional) a bracing surface or cross bar to prevent the LCD display from swinging backwards. I use the Makergear jig/nameplate that came with my Makergear Prusa kit. Steps: Open the SCAD and STL files for the faceplate and hook and double-check measurements. The scale settings on my printer are a little screwy, and may not match yours. Print 1x face plate and 2x hooks. I use PLA, but ABS should work as well. Use screws and nuts to mount faceplate on front of the LCD board and to secure The hooks on the back. The face plate should not cover the wire contacts, and the hooks should be facing away from the board. Mount it! hang the LCD from one of the top crossbars. Optionally rest the lower portion on a crossbar or brace to prevent the LCD display from hanging too far back.
