Here's how you'd do it: Draw an axis-aligned rectangle in Inventor. That will be the top, bottom, front, back or left & right face of your design - just not both. Don't forget that 0 means the tip or one end and pi means the other one (both measured along the length). If this were a line instead of an edge then 10 or -10 means it runs for an eternity.
