AFTER TESTING I NEEDED TO MAKE ANOTHER CHANGE, MOLD BOTTOM FINAL IS THE FINAL WORKING MOLD BOTTOM AS OF 4/7 ALL FILES NOW WORK FILES HAVE BEEN CORRECTED AND REPLACED BUT NOT TESTED. 4/5 I fixed a pass through problem with the bottom mask strap connectors. You may need to cut a little rubber out after casting but this version should be able to be de-molded easier. I also thickened the inner and outer filter covers slightly to make them easier to cast in resin. I am not sure how well the inner filter cover will stay in place once the mask is cast in Silicone and being worn. If anyone makes these please let everyone know how it goes in the comments. RespiratorMoldBottomNEW moves the groove that catches the inner filter cover to the middle of the rubber which in theory will keep it in place much better. I suggest printing this one over the regular one. PLEASE NOTE DO NOT PRINT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH SOME OF THE FILES I AM WORKING ON CORRECTIONS 4/4/20 These files will allow you to make a silicone respirator with a resin cast inside and outside filter cover. You should print the respirator mold top and bottom files then put the two files together with a rubber band. I'd also probably run some tape around the seam or clay just in case it leaks. Once the two halves are assembled you should cast a fairly hard skin safe silicone into it such as Dragon Skin 30 which is available from Smooth-On. I will provide links at the end of this write up. If you need to repair a casting Sil-Poxy is a silicone adhesive that can be used. You guessed it...that is another Smooth-On product. The two mold box files are designed to allow you to cast mold rubber into them, de-mold the rubber once cured then cast resin to make resin filter covers. I suggest using Task 8 resin also from Smooth-On. Both the Dragon Skin 30 and Task 8 resin can be sterilized in an autoclave set to 250°F for 30 minutes. DO NOT HEAT DRY. Open the autoclave at the end of the cycle and allow it to air dry and you should be good to go. Please share these files with anyone and everyone. Be smart and be safe.
