Have you wanted to try out the Capitan Picard Flute well now you can!

I love Star Trek and I adore TNG and for those who remember the episode “inner light” how could you forget the epic scene of Picard playing the flute in the jefferes tube like some sweet enya music video!

The flute is based on the screen prop used but I have taken the liberty of modifying the mouth piece to actually make more/better sounds. At first I made the mouth piece exactly like the prop but it no mater how I tried was not musical in anyway so I started looking at the designs of other flutes and recorders and mashed that design into the Ressikan flute design. I aligned the holes to that of a G scale to the best of my abilities.

The flute is by no means perfect and I am still working on different revisions to the mouth piece and hole designs so expect updates. The flute is also quite thin and I found that it played/sounded better with this design. I say this as you might find depending on you filament and printer settings need some adjustment. The connectors are very very snug so you may want to do a little sanding and finish work but I found with a fine print it worked out great and no glue is required.

Give it a test, let me know where it breaks or try your hand at a remix to make it better!

You can check it out in action here:
https://twitter.com/level2three/status/1432092347068604418
