Fragment of a Caen stone ashlar with a chamfer reused in the north elevation of the north nave aisle wall of Rochester Cathedral. Possibly part of the c.1080 north nave aisle window recesses that would have been recased in Caen stone after a fire of 1137. These Romanesque windows were obliterated when the present Gothic windows were inserted. Forty foot (12.2m) of the north nave aisle wall was further rebuilt in 1670 (Palmer 1897, p. 27).
