Reversible Francis Pump-Turbine Test Rig

A medium sized reversible Francis pump-turbine is installed on a steel tank which also incorporates two filters and V-weir. The turbine has a semi-open runner and is fitted with a transparent window which incorporates a set of seven pressure tappings across the face of the runner and the fully adjustable guide vanes. The turbine inlet head and discharge suction head are measured by pressure and vacuum gauges. The test rig is controlled from a user-friendly control panel. A tachometer and a force gauge are provided for power for speed and torque measurements. A centrifugal pump provides the flow of water to the turbine. The major components are manufactured of bronze and steel.
