I needed a reliable light source to reconnect loose wires without having to run for a flashlight. So I designed one that attaches directly to my printer exactly where I need it. The LEDs are grouped in sets of three, which is how this unit was built. You can purchase these on Amazon for under $8.00 per 16-and-a-half-foot strip, yielding 300 individual LEDs with a strong adhesive backing. A great deal indeed! I also used them to illuminate the underside of my extruder mount, making it easier to work with my printer. This design was created using DesignSpark Mechanical, a free and user-friendly CAD software available at rs-online.com/designspark/electronics/eng/page/mechanical. Have a wonderful day!
