Rey's Lightsaber (Long Version)

Rey's Lightsaber (Long Version)

<b>May 11, 2020</b> This has gone through many slight revisions, most recently, I separated the long and short versions into two different Things. The Short version is now located here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4357093 This is my take on the lightsaber Rey is holding at the very end of Rise of Skywalker. I saw the movie 4 times in the theater and on the last visit, even took a picture of it with my phone (shhh, these aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along). Even so, getting a really good definitive look at it is hard. It's probably on Google by now, but hey. It requires the collapsing blades from the Original Collapsing Lightsaber by 3DPRINTINGWORLD https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3606120 So use his files to print your blade. I realize that Rey's blade color is yellow, but I do not have one printed in yellow at the moment, so I used a red one I had sitting here for demonstration purposes. In order to make the top opening functional, I had to take some liberties with the design. Also, to make it 3d printer friendly. Despite both, I think it's a pretty awesome rendition. The Top piece with the opening triangle is a print-in-place part and should function. Your bed leveling has to be perfect or the moveable parts may fuse to the rest of the Top and not work. <b>Printing</b> You will need to print all the STLs in this Thing to build Rey's Lightsaber Long version. The only one you can skip is the Flashlight insert if you have an actual flashlight ou are going to use. Without a flashlight, you need to the insert to take up the same space as the light. Apparently, the flashlight I used is no longer available. The dimensions are: 88mm long by 25.5mm diameter. I allowed for 90mm x 26mm in the design because the rubber on/off button on the end needs a little clearance.
