This is a guard for the ventilator that cools the E3D and also protects the parts from rotation forces. I added an extra comment: Since the screw hole for the E3D was a loose fit with my print, I drilled it out to fit an M4 screw tightly, which might require increasing the hole size in your STL file if you need a tighter fit as well.
