Update: I made a better one. Please see Rick's Prusa Mendel Y Carriage 2017. Old: Stable Y-carriage that can print on a 185mm x 185mm square without using much material. I used to have 4 LM8UU bearings for my y carriage and 4 springs holding the heat bed but some clever forum posts explained to me that 3 points constrain a plane. That sounded familiar from vector calculus or something; but, more importantly 3 bearings and 3 springs seems to work quite well. The LM8UU bearing mounts and the Belt Clips are based on Wired1's Mendel Prusa ~ Max ~ Prism Y-carriage. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa Mendel Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Lowish. Infill: 100% Notes: Material: Esun PETG Bed Temp: 103-99C Nozzle diameter: 0.5mm Layer Hieght: 0.4mm Extrusion width: 0.7mm number of Perimeters: 3 Infill: rectilinear or archimedian cords If you need to print a new y-carriage, you might also need to use a brim... The STL named "PLATED SUPPORTED" is all 4 printed parts ready to slice, including the 2 tiny belt clips. Post-Printing
