Rickenbacker 325 Guitar Homage

Rickenbacker 325 Guitar Homage

thingiverse

A fully functional 3d printed electric guitar. Made as an homage to the Rickenbacker 325 played by John Lennon in the early Beatles. The files included here are for the body, pickguard, knobs, neck, and fretboard. The neck will need a larger heel added to it to fit into the cavity of the body (note: this is different from the neck I built which has an aluminum armiture for strength). This was an ambitious build, about 50 hours of printing and 50 hours of assembly and finishing. Plus over 100 hours of CAD design. To learn more see the video above. WARNING: it's an hour long video with lots of theory and practical info. Or, scroll forwards to last 15 minutes and see a four song performance featuring this fantastic guitar. The pickups shown above are not 3D printed, but I did print a pickup as an exersize to prove it could be done. See it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2598645 Added a 1/3 scale model of entire guitar, just for fun.
