Ever since I implemented auto-leveling, my Anet's springs on the print bed were useless and only caused oscillation at high speed, resulting in ghosting. In an effort to expose ghosting and other imperfections at high speed, I designed this simple part to eliminate the springs and make a rigid connection with the Bed carriage frame to get rid of any vibration they may have triggered. I've seen a significant improvement in print quality overall and at higher printing speeds. By doing away with the springs' length on your z axis, you also gain some height, which isn't substantial but can be pleasant to have. By just putting in the rigid mount, print quality is noticeably better. Ghosting is almost eliminated. All I can say is that the springs on the bed are an extremely poor design and add a huge margin of vibration to the print surface. My opinion is that adding auto-level is a must to get rid of the bed springs.
