RigidBot Filament Guide
thingiverse
A reliable filament guide ensures that the filament is fed off the spool at a consistent pace by securely attaching a PTFE tube to one side and guiding it through the extruder. The tubing should extend enough for full coverage of the extruder's motion path to prevent yanking or tension on the spool. When running filament through the guide, this results in even tension control over the entire spool rotation, perfectly matching the extruder feed rate. I typically secure the tube around a couple of spirals on the extruder cable using velcro for reliable attachment. Update: Although some initial parts exhibited resistance beyond optimal performance - notably during end-of-spool phases with diminished diameter - our engineers successfully rectified this with the v2 iteration by designing the guide to fasten closer to the rear top mounting point.
