Ritewing Nano Drak Hatch System

Ritewing Nano Drak Hatch System

thingiverse

This is a system I designed and developed for the Ritewing Nano-Drak. The concept places the RX and VTX antennas on the centerline of the fuselage for better aerodynamics, The flight components I use on my Nano Draks are: Matek F405-WMN FC APD-80F3X ESC Foxeer Reaper Extreme 5.8 VTX TBS Crossfire Nano RX RDQ M8N Glonass GPS RunCam Hybrid II FPV/HD Camera The side hatch bays are scooped and vented. I place the VTX in the left bay and the RX and GPS in the right bay. The main equipment hatch cover is scooped to allow airflow over the FC and ESC The Battery hatch cover is vented The Bulkhead allows for camera harness on the left side and battery leads on the right side. You must cut a portion of the foam bulkhead out of the Nano Drak fuselage and glue the bulkhead into the fuselage (I use Goop). You will need 3mm x 10mm knurled aluminum stand-offs for all hatch covers. The Stand-off's are press fit into the bulkhead but are glued into the foam for the side hatch's and front of the battery hatch cover. To reduce weight by about 15 grams, you can print the main hatch, battery hatch and side hatch covers using 3% infill. I used 7% infill and require ZERO additional ballast weight to hit CG running a 2200mAh 6S battery (Pyrodrone). (Nano Drak extended 40" wings, NO TAIL BOOM). Print the flight controller, ESC mount and hatch cover stays using PETG. If you have any questions, hit me up on the RiteWing Nation facebook group.
