So I have designed this Road Ranger Style Gear Shift Knob for my car, it is designed to use a Jaycar SK0969 Switch in it. https://www.jaycar.com.au/ip65-rated-mini-illuminated-rocker-switch-spst-16a-12vdc/p/SK0969 The holes for the cable are 5mm diameter, so good enough to get a trigger wire up to them, I wouldn't recommend running any decent amps through small wires, so trigger wires to relays are probably your best bet. There is no shift pattern, realistically you'll probably want a shift pattern on there depending on local laws, in Australia where I am, you need one. I've included a number of common thread sizes for various gearshift threads, so you should be able to find one that matches your car, 10x1.5 and 12x1.5 are the most common ones you get, however some others are around. I am unsure of Imperial thread pitches, never owned an American car, or an old British car, so have absolutely no idea. If you have some idea on the thread pitches that are common, I will add them to the file. The threaded inserts are designed to be screwed on first, and then you epoxy the rest of the shifter on straight, the head is designed to screw on straight onto the body, but I still recommend using some epoxy glue to hold it all together once done. You absolutely positively don't want this coming apart as you run down the road. Print in the best resolution your printer can possibly go, this gives the threads the beast bite.
