Road to 2020: Pokey Minch

The eighth figure of the Road To 2020: HNV lineup is Pokey Minch, of Earthbound fame! Debuting in 1994, Earthbound was a quirky turn-based RPG made by Shigesato Itoi. Pokey was Ness' neighbor, and ultimately served as a twist villain in the game. He rivaled Ness' good nature and joined forces with the evil Giygas. Throughout the game, Pokey was seen pulling levers of power, climbing the corporate ladder until he came across the source of all evil. For the design, I wanted to match the clay aesthetic the game manual concept art had. I was going off of pixel renditions to try and accurately portray the pudgy kid. The figure is based on his final confrontation with Ness in Earthbound, where he serves as Giygas' right-hand man.
