Build AND DEMO video on my Youtube Robothut channel. https://youtu.be/Zrru4y6jlZ4 Part 4 of the Block Head Robby Machine build. https://youtu.be/2-2yOa3yc9s The hardest part of the build is the 3 gyros, so I show 3 ways to do it. The movie prop way used a lath turned clear plexiglass disc, but you can 3d print the part and use the part to make a mold to clear cast the part. Or if you have a resin 3d printer you can print a nice clear part. Once you have the clear gyro disc's then you have to add the wire hoops , I used 12 guage alluminum wire but copper ellctrical wire works as well. Or there is a fully FDM 3d printed way to make a gyro section as well. I use a TT gearmotor to drive the gyros. You can use a 48:1 or 120 :1. Use a 3AA battery pack for the power so that the White Dome light "LED" has enough voltage. Don't forget the current limit resister. 39 ohms to 220 ohms will be fine in this application. The LED is a Jumbo 10mm white LED. The Dome light cover would be best printed on a resin 3d printer also since it is supposed to be clear, the Dome light it's self is frosted so a FDM 3d printer with clear filament does a good job of making this part. I have added mid size and large Dome light cover's. I have also provided a base for flat mounting the unit to things like a full scale Robby head or Robby Machine.
