This robot is called "unl", which provides unlimited possibilities in the humanoid robot design. For a long time that I had a thought that there might be a way to make the same humanoid robot both for home and games. At home, it can be cute, attractive, and playable. But on the game field, it needs special weapons, reduced armor weight, and enlarged range of motion for kicking, punch, and fight. This "unl" kind of integrated two into one. The armor is changeable. It even has two faces for the robot hobbyists and RoboCup champions. I hope you enjoy it and let me know if there is any question or suggestion. Features: - Double knee joint to provide higher torque and flexibility - Human-like range of motion - Reduce sized 3 DOF hip joint gearbox that provides full flexibility for locomotion - Easy access and upgradable backpack for changing or charging batteries and connecting electronics - Using standard dynamixel parts and brackets and AX12/AX18 servos - Modoulized structure and cover design that can be easily and quickly replaced during the tight gaming schedule - Interchangeable head design both for entertainment and competition - Customizable joint covers design for personal preference and style - Space in head and body for upgrade such as speakers, microphones, and USB connectors Specification: - 24 DOF (including 3 DOF trunk and hip) - Sensors include webcam on head, 9 DOF IMU on the body, force sensors and ultrasonic range finders on foot - 1+ 1350 mAh 225C LiPO - BeagleBone Black miniature computation - 3D printable covers and structures *** Updated 10/4/2013 *** It's almost the deadline of this challenge, I only can finish two head designs. I might need to find some time later to make a different body parts. *** Updated 10/17/2013 *** Finally, I have some time to fix several minor things in the design, including head parts attaching, assembly of the whole body, mirrored parts, and interference with servos. Please see the uploaded image. You may see that there is plenty space in the head design for speakers or microphones. The modified design (Robosavvy Humanoid All) is uploaded. *** Updated 11/17/2013 *** I have corrected the knee joint design so that the servos for the knee joint can be linked together and amplified the torque. Modified back covers are uploaded. *** Updated 11/22/2013 *** Added ribs for cover parts.
