Robot Soap Bottle Shelf

We needed a small shelf to hold a bottle of liquid soap in our bathroom and my wife suggested I adapt my robot cell phone holder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1293141 and make a small soap shelf - and since I really love making those robot-like models she didn't need to ask twice. The shelf is 8x8cm, this size fits all the hand soap bottles I could find in my home. This model is available in two versions - the first version has some small problems, but nothing you can't fix with just a little quality time with some sandpaper, the second version should fix all the problem with the first version but I haven't printed it myself yet. The model has 3 parts, they can all be printed together on the same bed using the same settings, I printed it in PLA, 0.2mm layer height, 10% infill and no supports. The body The body should be printed sitting down with no support and 5-10% infill. The body has massive overhangs that are likely to make you slicer go crazy but my printer had no trouble printing them - the bottom-back of the arms looks bad but I don't care because nobody will look at the back side of a wall mounted shelf. The model actually has built in support for all the problem parts, you need to remove two thin pieces of plastic supporting the bottom of the hands and arms on both sides. In the V2 model there are also two pieces of "support" on the top of both shoulders - those are there to increase the layer time of the topmost layers, without them the plastic doesn't have time to cool down and the body-to-head connector comes out really deformed. This part is surprisingly strong with 10% infill and has no problem supporting the weight of the soap bottle and the pressure applied when using it. The head Both the V1 and V2 versions share the same head design. The head should be printed face up, infill is not important since this part doesn't need to support any weight. The head part for the body-head connector is a little too big to fit a malformed body-side part of the connector from the V1 body, you may need a tiny bit of glue. The wall plate The wall plate should be printed wider part down with 5-10% infill and no support. The wall plate is designed for two 3mm screws 38mm apart the narrower part goes on the wall and the wider part goes into a slot on the robot's back. There are two square holes on the bottom, those are for the screw heads, the bridging of those comes out horrible but nobody will know because they will be inside the robot. In the V1 model the tolerances are way too small and unless your printer is perfectly calibrated it will need a bit of sanding, the V2 model should be easier to fit.
