Rock Band Light Show Instruments

Rock Band Light Show Instruments

I've seen a lot of holiday light shows and it occurred to me that, as a drummer, I could make a light show that featured a full rock band, where the instruments reflect what's actually being played by the musicians. Instruments are all designed for ws2812 lights, which should fit in the holes. For the guitar "strings," I used 60 pixel/meter ws2811b light strips. Super Glue worked just fine to hold them to the plastic. Drums are displayed by hanging from a cheap PVC rack that I built (see video links below for reference). I attached them using zip ties. The guitars are held by skeletons, and are likewise attached using zip ties. The drums were all created using scad files, which I've uploaded. The guitars were created by taking clip art images of guitars, turning them into 3d extrusions using 3D Builder, then adding holes for the lights in Blender. I'm not all that competent with Blender, so there's no way I could've designed the guitars from scratch. Had to cheat. Necks and bodies of the guitars are printed separately, and then connected to each other using 5mm bolts. You can see the instruments in action at the YouTube links below.
