While working with Open-SCAD one day, I decided new conversation piece for my desk was in order so I designed this up using an image from the internet, the offset command in Open-SCAD and box of stand-offs from Amazon (you can get them here: http://amzn.to/2hZAvfK ). The results were rather cool and it serves its purpose all that see it mention how "different" it is! Also don't the picture stop you at three just because I did! You can do 5 or ten it's all up to you and if you do make one, please share it here with a picture under "I Made One!". Also if you have an idea for another "object" you would like to see done like this, please drop me a note and I will consider doing it! :-) Standoffs: Black Plastic: http://amzn.to/2hZAvfK White Plastic: http://amzn.to/2gM0dTS Brass version: http://amzn.to/2hFH2Ny To learn more about this and our other prints, please visit http://www.DIY3DTech.com as well check out our YouTube Channel at http://YouTube.DIy3DTech.com to learn more about 3D Printing, CNC Machining, and CO2 Laser cutting & engraving! Print Settings Printer: Any 200mm x 200mm printer will work Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .03 or better Infill: 20 or Less... Notes: Very simple print, have done both ABS and PLA just straight up and out of the box (no brim, raft, etc) however for ABS it is big so would suggest warming the bed to avoid that nasty ABS warping habit. However the standoff do tend to pull things back into line if the "warping" isn't to bad. Post-Printing After printing you may need to use a small drill bit to clean out the holes and simply insert the either the bolts (for the first one) and then the stand offs, and finally the nuts on the last. Also nothing says you have limit yourself to only three!
