Rod to Rod dial indicator bracket
thingiverse
I created this dial indicator bracket to ensure X carriage rods align perfectly with Y rods, allowing for smooth carriage travel. Most similar brackets mount the dial between rod clips, but this approach only allows tool tips to reach the bed. For accurate results, X axis rods must match Y axis rods, and the bed's leveling screws should be removed from the squaring process. To position the probe correctly on the Y rods, simply remove the ball end. Required hardware includes an M5x20 hex cap bolt and one M5 locknut per bracket. For optimal performance, home your printer on Z while the bed is in its lowest position to allow probes to reach the Y rods. If you can't move the print bed out of the way, mount the brackets facing backwards. Turn on the indicator before mounting and be careful not to zero it out. Make sure the bracket is fully seated on the rods, and the probe is securely positioned on top of the Y rod. I use two indicators because X rods pivot at points outside carriage travel range; adjusting one Z rod changes height across the opposite mount point. Printer settings: Maker Select, rafts off, supports enabled, resolution 0.2mm, infill 15%. Post-printing steps include removing support from the adapter slot and breaking out the hex nut capture's support plug. This bracket is designed for specific indicators and may not fit other models.
