Two original rodin coil formers. UPDATE: Just added a mount that snaps into 3 of the pegs. Useful for adding a bus bar for wire termination and/or providing a way to mount the coil using the two 6mm holes provided. One 12-point toroid configuration & a 36-point flat/pancake design. I'm now winding my very first toroid. (work in progress) Winding explained below ... Mark your starting pin with a marker to (1) ensure you're winding correctly and (2) provide a reference point for one complete winding. You can use a single strand or a bifilar/trifilar config. If using more than 1 strand, pre-twisting ALL strands with a drill can improve performance. At the starting pin you've marked, leave about a foot of wire(s) hanging. Wrap the wire a few times around the starting pin to secure it. Once secured, Pass your spooled wire through the center. Count FIVE pins apart and wrap the strand around the donut. Pull tightly with each turn. Repeat the same process, and after 11 more windings you will end up back at the starting position ... if not then you've made a mistake. If you need a break, just wrap a few turns around a pin to keep the windings tight. It WILL look better & better as more windings are completed. MY MOTIVATION FOR THIS COIL BUILD: As a paraplegic, I have several wounds on my legs that take forever to heal, and some do not seem to heal at all. I plan to generate amplified frequencies/tones known for their potential healing properties through my finished coil in hopes of healing. Particularly 256, 432, & 512 Hz. I generate the tones in Audacity and more can be found online. I then will feed these mp3 tracks into a 50 - 100 watt amplifier while sleeping, with the coil in close proximity to the wound. We'll see what happens, but I do believe that electro-magnetic therapy is a legit (however scoffed at) science. I don't think it is "voodoo" but rather "structures" the iron/plasma in the blood. Think for a moment about visualizing a coil's field using iron filings. Now visualize the iron in your blood, and how the vortex fields - at certain freqs - could have a positive effect. IMHO, I believe that this therapy could be as simple as described. Happy winding !!!
