Rolling Tray / Smoking Box & Humidor V2

Rolling Tray / Smoking Box & Humidor V2

thingiverse

This is a Rolling tray / Smoking Box and/or Humidor or whatever you may call it locally. (Personally I use this same box design for keeping a few laser components in - any box is multi-purpose!) while this humidor/box is reasonably air (humidity) sealed, If you want to keep your tobacco in prime condition for extended periods of time, then you may wish to add a simple sticky foam seal or something similar. {EDIT} I modelled the original of this a long while ago at a special request, but I'm uploading the V2 as I was recently asked to make a few tweaks and share the files. I've removed the over-complicated hinge pins, strengthened the hinges and completely redesigned the terrible latch so that it's now rather decent... Oh, and I deleted the old error ridden V1 files as the V2 is frankly better in every way. To affix the Hinge, Latch and Latch Bar I suggest you use the 3mm Filament rivet trick. (See Settings.) ...and don't forget to remove the supports from under the paper clamps before you attach your favourite rolling papers! Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa Variant Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 - 0.4mm Layers Infill: 20% or Less depending on your printer Notes: Print one each of the BOX, LID and TRAY: to affix the Hinge, Latch and Latch Bar I suggest you use the 3mm Filament rivet trick: (Melt the end of a length of filament, press it against something cool to make a flat disc - then thread through the hinge holes and do the same to the other end) *any 3mm filament will suffice, but I prefer PLA. Do NOT print with supports, as small sections of removable support are modelled as part of the print already these usually break-away, but may require a small amount of trimming with a craft knife. How I Designed This 3D Modelled from scratch in Blenderhttp://www.blender.org Although this was modelled entirely from scratch, I'd like to thank https://www.thingiverse.com/anewsome for inadvertently making me realise how easily I could model a latch mechanism.
