The heliostat has mirrors that are rolled up onto a drum. The heliostat is deployed by raising the drum using scissor lifts at each end of the drum. The unit is housed in a box with a hinged cover. There is a solar panel at the front of the box. The tilt and swivel mechanisms are at the bottom of the housing connected to the rover
