This is a logo designed by Elaine Wong for the Youth Suicide Awareness campaign "Roly-Poly Day" in Hong Kong. The campaign is organised by Mr. Chan Hung (Founder of the Principal Chan's Free Tutorial World). There is a series of lead-in activities with a concluding event taking place in Kowloon Park on April 7. We have a broken education system in Hong Kong. I am not talking about the quality of the graduates but the suicide problem of the school kids and the trend is worsening. There is just too much (unnecessary) pressure on the students nowadays in Hong Kong (and perhaps elsewhere too). And the most worrying to us is that we are getting less and less media coverage, not to mention proper attention from the Authorities. In February this year alone (2017), we have 7 student suicide cases. Last year we have 35 cases (corrected). For a population of around 7 million and a diminishing school kids demographic I think it's alarmingly high. I don't know how this statistic compares to other countries / cities. But even if we have just only one, isn't it "just one too many"? Let's make some Roly-Poly's and give our students (in Hong Kong and elsewhere) some encouragement to tackle whatever difficulties they may confront. Life is too beautiful and exciting to be ended this way. Print Settings Printer Brand: CEL Printer: CEL Robox Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 20% Notes: RoboxDual is used. Some are printed with two colours in which case a brim is added to help stabilize and adhere to the bed. Others are printed with single colour while using Polysupport for "support". Note that the support option is set to "Touch Build Plate only" (no support for the interior of the object). We can pause the print at around 14 mm to put in a weight piece of 27-mm dia and 5-mm thick. The weight piece is required for stability. The original Roly-Poly design is in 3 different colours - representing family (red), school (yellow) and society (blue). However, a number of white ones are produced for people to draw on as they like.
