Rope

Rope

thingiverse

A parameterized model of triple strand rope in four configurations: line, spool, ring and coil. Use the customizer to adjust the model to your specifications or edit the rope.scad file directly. The four different objects are created as single polyhedrons that can be manipulated in OpenSCAD as any other object - i.e. difference and union operators can be used to build complex objects like a fluted pillar. The surface finished of the rope is controlled by the 'fc' (facet count) parameter in a similar way one would use the $fn parameter when creating a cylinder. Note that increasing fc dramatically increases the number of facets in the object, which for the spool and coil models will result in large stl file sizes.
