Every MakerBot enthusiast needs one of these attached to their key chain. This key fob boasts three concentric rings that rotate independently, making it a fantastic demonstration of what can be achieved through 3D printing - an impressive conversation piece that accompanies its owner wherever they go. Easy to print with built-in support structures, this design excels on the Replicator 2, where support removal leaves the middle and inner rings free to spin smoothly. A quick application of silicone lubricant (leaving a non-greasy, dry finish) enhances their rotation, much like a high-quality bearing. For a multi-colored effect, as shown in the image, simply switch filament at 2mm and again at 6mm when using Raft (approximately 1mm thick). If you choose not to use Raft, change filament at 1mm and 5mm.
