This solution consists of a stainless steel rod with a pressed / stamped end which bolts to the original motor support bracket. The kit is supplied with a new seat post clamp plus the rod restraint which clamps to the top end of the restraining rod. The rod restraint is designed to bolt directly to bikes where the seat post clamp is integrated in to the frame, in which case, the seat post clamp is not required. The rod should be supplied straight then bent slightly as required by the user to achieve the best fit. If it were supplied at a suitable length for the longest seat post (23"?), the user can trim it to length as required. The rod should also be supplied with a plastic end cap (not shown). Since the rod (as pictured) is in tension while the motor is driving, it does not have to be of heavy gauge. My apologies for the crude drawing - I only had the idea in the last few hours of the challenge and there was not sufficient time to draw the assembly as I would have liked.
