Rotor mount for GoPro style action cameras
thingiverse
Rotor mount (helmet mount / swivel mount) originally designed for GoPro Hero 3+ action camera with Ultra wide FoV. The rotor mount was designed to be easily taken apart into pieces that fit into carry on luggage and can be easily taken apart and reassembled without tools on ski lifts etc. (Simply pull the aluminium poles from the sockets, they are being hold together by elastic cord) WARNING! Attaching this (or any pole for that matter) to your helmet will dramatically increase the risk of severe or fatal head and neck injuries! Use at own risk! When crashing with the thing, it is supposed to crack at the base and/or the aluminium fitting - but don't count on it! Instructions To complete this build you will also need: 2 aluminium tubes, ÃÂ16x500mm (ÃÂ10mm indent on one end) 2 closed ball bearings (608?) (rollerblade/skateboard type) inner ÃÂ8mm, outer ÃÂ22mm, 7mm width. 1 bolt: M8x40 1 nut: M8 5 washers, inner ÃÂ8mm 1 bolt: M6x40 1 nut: M6 1 washer ÃÂ6mm 2 bolts: M5x45 (standard long GoPro mount screws will do) 2 bolts: M5x30 (standard long or short GoPro mount screws will do) 4 nuts: M5 1 meter elastic cord (ÃÂ3mm) 100-200g of lead pellets to counter weight of camera (fill dummy GoPro) 1 GoPro style action camera 1 GoPro style helmet mount 1 GoPro base (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53438) The design was done using Autodesk Fusion 360. The assembly video was to be done by using Autodesk Fusion 360 Publisher Beta, but it was discontinued. Assembly video will probably be released, when Publisher goes live again. I printed mine on the Solidoodle 4 withe the all new extruder. Black ABS (1.75) 0.1 layer height, 205C nozzle, 110C bed with glass plate and glue stick applied.
