Rotring 600 Mechanical Pencil Cap

The Rotring 600 is a pretty nice mechanical pencil from Germany, but they don't seem to come with a cap to protect the tip where the graphite comes out - so I whipped up this printed version. This may work with a Rotring 800 as well but I haven't tested it.

The Fusion 360 model in the Files section has a user parameter setup so you can change the ID of interior protrusion which grips the knurled part of the pencil body and adjust the ‘grip factor’ of this cap. The .3mf has the ID that I arrived at through trial and error, providing a decent compromise between grip and ease of putting on and off:

Print Parameters: Prusa Mk3s

OVERTURE PLA in Red - 1.75mm filament, printed at 205 C on the nozzle with a bed temp of 45 C

.30mm ‘Quality’ settings on PrusaSlicer, I used a .6mm nozzle because that's what I had installed in my setup but re-slicing for a .4mm would probably be better for this application

5mm of brim, to ensure the relatively long cylinder adheres to the print bed

Seam Position set to Random for aesthetic reasons - this isn't really important

Print time was 21 minutes on my Mk3s with the settings above.
