Area of extensive of carved outcrop near Ford, Northumberland. Roughting Linn is a large dome shaped quarried outcrop measuring 21m x 15m x 3.5m. It was first noted by prominent archaeologist Canon William Greenwell in the mid19th C and has since become one of the most visited rock art sites in England. Motifs consist of various cups, rings, penannular and groove designs scattered mainly on the upper and east facing surfaces. This section shows the carvings at the NE end. It was created from 18 out of 1150 photos captured during a test of SfM for Historic England in April 2009.
