Round-ness Detector Calibration

Round-ness Detector Calibration

If you're not quite sure you are getting circles instead of ovals, try out my new, patent-worthy-but-idontmeanthat invention: the roundness detector! Made to fit a fender washer so you have something round to compare it to. Auto-aligning, too. Isn't that special? If you download now, we'll throw in the "quicklash" calibration test. Get it ballparked in with the Round-ness Detector and then fine tune with quicklash. Instructions Print it. Drop a fender washer in the well. Take a picture directly above it. THEN remove the print from the print bed, very carefully. If you wait to put the fender in, you might not get a chance. The thin walls are a bonus calibration feature, but they are kinda hard to keep when you pry it up. Use quicklash after you've eliminated as much mechanical backlash as possible. Iterate prints of the quicklash (designed to be skeined and printed quickly) with incremental changes to the X and Y values in the Lash module of Skeinforge, and lay them out in a matrix. By eye you will be able to pick the best one.
