Instead of using the stand drilling machine to drill holes in a cabinet walls, I used my Festools OF1010 router, the 17mm copying ring and a 5 mm drill router with this jig to drill nice and clean series of holes with a distance of 37 mm to top or bottom of inside of a cabinet and 32 mm to each of the holes. || <-- 37 mm --> O <-- 32 mm --> O <-- 32 mm --> O <-- 32 mm --> O <-- 32 mm --> O How to use it: -> Align the jig's left or right side with cabinet wall's top or bottom edge and clamp it tight. -> Place the router's copying ring into the first slot and drill a hole about 12 mm deep. -> Pull the router drill out and move the copying ring to second slot and drill again. -> After drilling five holes you can reposition the jig to drill more holes. If you need more holes: -> unclamp the jig -> insert a 5 mm drill into the last hole -> slide the jig to fit the drill into the half-hole on one of the sides -> clamp it and drill as before -> Usually is better to drill the holes starting from the top edge and then starting from the bottom edge and meet somewhere in the middle of cabinet wall. You can insert 5 mm steel or wood pin into the holes at your choice to support the shelf floors. You can also use this jig to drill holes for hidden cabinet door hinges. How I made the Jig: After cutting the pieces from 3 mm MDF with laser cutter (kerf 0,1 mm allready in SVG), glue them together and use three 3x12 screws for stability. I use Festool screw clamps to hold the jig in place and it is sitting firmly on a cabinet wall edge as I drill holes with a router.
