The RRD Hexagon hotend is significantly shorter than the ubis hotend that comes stock with the Printrbot Simple and doesn't reach the print bed so I made this to hold the hotend a bit lower. This is the first thing I've designed. This works for my 2013 printrbot simple with aluminium extruder but it may work for other models/printers that use the aluminium extruder. The fan shroud melted a little above the heat block for me so I'm still fiddling with it. It might need to be printed in ABS which I currently can't do due to no heated print bed. I added a version trimmed back to fit the new 1405 simple maker kit, it will get in the way of the screws for the print fan mount but I'm not sure how to get around that. Also added a fan shroud with a cutout for the probe mount on the 1405. Instructions Put a m3 hex nut in the slot, it's a tight fit I used a clamp to get it in. You'll need a 22mm m3 screw to secure the hotend. Mount under the extruder using the 3 existing screw holes, you'll just need some longer screws I used 20mm. The filament guide goes in to the aluminium extruder where the ubis would normally go, I made the hole big enough for me to stick some ptfe tube in because I wanted to ensure it would feed through smoothly.
