I design this casing specifically for the i3 y- corners, created to be printed in flexible filament - Torwell flex being my material of choice. Its primary purpose is to enhance the printer's stability and minimize noise. Prior to implementing this design, vibrations from the printer caused it to shift across my desk. Since incorporating these casings, the situation has greatly improved, and the printer now remains stationary. This particular design marks the first phase in a kit I'm developing to significantly improve the i3's overall stability without requiring any modifications to its frame, unlike some workarounds that involve making such alterations.
