Rubberband Recurve

Rubberband Recurve

thingiverse

This bow was designed as a single-piece replacement for a rubberband bow. It's modeled after the ancient recurve bows which used a secondary spring action on the end of the bow to get that extra needed power. I've done my best to reproduce this feature by creating the alien like ribs along the curve, hence the name Xenome! This ribbed shape allows the plastic to flex without breaking, giving you the actual secondary spring action. The optional handle can help you hold it as a crossbow if you'd like. Designed to fire standard ticonderoga #2 pencils or any other cylindrical object that can clear the bows frame. Instructions I printed it with ABS for the flexibility that you need with a bow. 75% infill ensures that the recurve action won't damage the physical shape. I used a rubberband that felt dangerous enough when I drew it back.
